Ealing Council submitted its Development (or Core) Strategy to the Secretary of State for examination on 22 July 2011. The Development Strategy sets out a vision for the future development of the borough and covers a 15-year plan period up to 2026. It also sets the context for the other policy documents that make up Ealing’s Local Development Framework.
Public hearing sessions took place over eight days during a 4-week period from 1 November until 23 November. The Inspector's binding report is expected early 2012 and the Council expects to adopt the new strategy by April 2012.
The Council then plans to consult on those sites that have potential for future development (a Development Sites DPD) and the criteria used to determine planning applications (a Development Management Policies DPD) in May or June 2012.
