The Official Launch of Ealing in London Magazine 2016

Ealing Council’s regeneration team officially launched the 2016 edition of the ‘Ealing in London’ magazine at a reception at Perceval House on 21st June.

The event was hosted by the leader of the council, Cllr Julian Bell, and the regeneration directors, and was attended by more than 100 delegates from development companies and businesses across the capital.

Featured on the night was:-

- a gallery of photographs by local photographer Alex Arnaoudov;

- a film highlighting the attractions and opportunities within the borough;

- a Crossrail line featuring the five borough stops – Acton Mainline, Ealing Broadway, West Ealing, Hanwell and Southall; and

- models of three of the borough’s key developments - Southall Waterside, the South Acton Estate and the Collective’s bold new concept of co-living at the Collective Old Oak.

The evening’s two keynote speakers were Cllr Bell and local businessman and long standing resident Rory O’Connor, managing director of C.J.O’Shea Group Ltd.

Cllr Bell spoke about the many achievements made over the past 12 months, including the cinema CPO, the approval of the Southall Waterside masterplan and planning permission for 4,000 new homes in the borough this year alone. He also pointed out how Crossrail's new Elizabeth Line will turn Ealing into a zone 1 borough for connectivity while still retaining its suburban quality of life.

Rory O’Connor talked about doing business in the borough and his memories of living in some of Ealing’s most beautiful heritage areas.
