The Hootie…at home

Sadly, this year’s Hanwell Hootie has had to be postponed, but all will not be lost for music aficionados this Saturday night – when the original festival was due to be held.

The team and some of the artists behind the Hootie will be live streaming some of the bands that were due to perform outside, via the festival’s Facebook page from 4pm on Saturday 9th May. Keep an eye on their social media pages for a schedule too.

June Martin, one of the organisers, says: "We are all about togetherness and live music. May 9 will be a day to turn off the news, turn up the music and join your friends through the wizardry of modern technology. We hope families will dress for a festival and decorate their home or garden too.

“There will be live streaming music performances throughout the evening, comedy and our Viaduct Meadow and Sandy Park DJs will be beaming their sessions throughout the evening into your home.

“Some of the original Hootie venues will be also be providing takeaway deliveries for food and drinks so we can still support local businesses.

During the festivel, the organisers will be accepting voluntary donations by text and online. Half will go to the bands and the other half to the event organisers.

June adds, “Hanwell Hootie is keeping Ealing on the music map and keeping music live in small venues!

"See you at 4pm on May 9 straight into your living room and garden!"
